Our Team

Senior management at Castle Rock Construction Company comprises a highly experienced team of pavement and infrastructure builders.  Five of the six started with the Irving F. Jensen Company, Inc. or the Brower Construction Company in Sioux City, Iowa, later joining the Castle Rock Construction Company when it was formed to focus on work in the Mountain West, and in 2002 transferred to the Castle Rock Construction Company of Colorado, LLC.  With an average tenure of twenty seven years, you can be assured that they know how to build.  While most have engineering degrees, they have all earned their stripes in the field building work.  They have worked as a team for many years sharing their expertise and talent for the benefit of the customer

President and Manager

 

Erik M. Jensen is the President of Castle Rock Construction Company of Colorado, L.L.C..  After graduating from Yale University in New Haven, CT. in 1963 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he joined the Irving F. Jensen Company in Sioux City Iowa.  Over the next sixteen years he worked in a number of positions ranging from Foreman to Operations Manager on a wide range of projects including major interstate, urban street, county road, and heavy airports.  In 1979 he brought a crew to Colorado to pave a portion of I-76.  While Denver was predominantly an asphalt paving market, he saw the opportunity to develop a strong concrete paving market. 

 

Mr. Jensen is the Past President of the Colorado Concrete Paving Association and Past Vice President of the Iowa Concrete Paving Association.  He also served as the President of the Colorado Contractors Association (CCA), Chairman CCA/Denver Public Works Joint Co-op Committee and the CCA/CDOT Transportation Policy Committee.  He is the Past Chairman of the American Concrete Paving Association Marketing Committee.

Chief Operating Officer

 

Mr. Bell is the General Manager for Castle Rock Construction Company of Colorado, L.L.C..  After graduating from the University of Missouri in 1979 with a degree in Civil Engineering, he came to work at Castle Rock Construction Company as a Structures Foreman.  Over the past 25 years he has served in a number of positions ranging from Foreman to Operations Manager on a wide range of projects including major interstate, urban street, county road, heavy airport, and Design-Build. These projects have been located in the states of Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Kansas, and Colorado.

 

His responsibilities include determining which projects best fit Castle Rock Construction Company’s abilities, acquiring those projects, overall management of the initial setup, and scheduling management of both subcontractor and internal forces on the projects. He also provides guidance and support to Operations Managers, Project Managers, and Construction Superintendents during the actual construction of the project.

Mr. Hanneman is the Project Sponsor with primary responsibility for municipal and private projects.  After attending Iowa State University, he began his construction career as a laborer and equipment operator with Irving F. Jensen Company in 1973. In 1982 he came to Colorado and was one of the founding members of Castle Rock Construction Company.  Over the ensuing years he has become a leading force in the development of new markets and products for the Company. His responsibilities include bidding, estimating, scheduling, and construction management of multiple infrastructure projects. His experience includes 30 years of construction projects with both Irving F. Jensen Company and Castle Rock Construction Company working on federal, state, municipal and private development projects.

Project Manager

 

Dennis Krausman is a Project Manager for large projects.  He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1970 with a degree in physics and earned an MBA degree in 1986 from the University of Colorado, Denver.  Mr. Krausman worked as a laborer, foreman & superintendent with Irving F. Jensen Company in Iowa and in 1981 was one of the founding members of Castle Rock Construction Company.  Through the ensuing years he has worked in ever increasing areas of responsibility and now as a concrete paving manager, directs the construction of our concrete paving projects in Colorado, Wyoming, and Kansas.

 

His most notable projects include the reconstruction of I-25, I-225, and I-70 in numerous locations including Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Denver, and Casper and Cheyenne Wyoming as well as various locations on I-80 in Nebraska and Wyoming.  Mr Krausman also has extensive experience in the construction of city streets with multiple reconstruction projects and new projects in the Denver metropolitan area. 

 

Mr Krausman regularly teaches courses in Concrete Pavement Construction throught the country for the benefit of the American Concrete Paving Association, the Federal Highway Administration, and various state Departments of Transportation.  Mr. Krausman is a Past President of the American concrete Paving Association CO/WY Chapter and is a member of various Colorado Contractor Association committees.
