WHEN CONSTRUCTED – October 2003

     Castle Rock Construction Company of Colorado placed 21,000 tons of 2” thick overly on this crucial link from E-470 to I-25 on the south side of Denver of October of 2003.  This multilane project widened on the east end for a toll booth and on the west end for on and off ramps to I-25.  After an initial minor problem, Castle Rock Construction Company was able to devise a process to meet a very tough longitudinal joint specification.  High production was obtained utilizing live bottom trailers and a caterpillar pickup machine.  The end result was a very smooth job with excellent longitudinal joints and a very pleased owner.
